Our work with policy makers

TFA’s policy work is focused on developing recommendations for complementary measures to enhance the benefits of, and minimize the risks and costs of, demand-side regulation in the EU, UK and the US.

To achieve this, we work in both key consumer and producer geographies, to help policy makers incorporate the perspectives of influential value chain companies, financial institutions and civil society organizations in the development of policies designed to decouple agricultural commodity production from deforestation and ecosystem conversion.

Our key activities include

Knowledge exchange & capacity development

Facilitating knowledge exchange and capacity development initiatives with key corporate and government representatives on demand side regulations, processes and their implications.

Enhancing partnerships

Enhancing partnerships to channel the best available knowledge and practices to foster the development of effective demand-side regulations, and to create enabling conditions that support collaboration between producer and consumer countries.

Policy & operational recommendations

Policy and operational recommendations developed in key geographies to facilitate deforestation and conversion free trade in palm oil, soybean and cattle.
